Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and how I got into bearmaking. I am 31 years old and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm married and have a beautiful 1 year old son.
I first became interested in teddy bears after visiting a teddy bear fair in May 2003. I was completely enchanted by all the bears I saw, but it was the miniature bears that really inspired me to have a go myself. Being unable to work due to chronic fatigue syndrome I was looking for a new hobby to fill in my days.
My main interest over the past decade had been cross stitching and I had never attempted to make a toy before. I decided to buy a miniature bear kit and give it a go and I was soon hooked!
I have been making miniature bears and other animals for over 4 years now and really enjoy it. I am so thankful I came across this wonderful world of bears! I am now branching out into cloth dolls and other crafts.
I have been lucky enough to have some of my bears published in international magazines such as Teddy Bear Club International and Teddy Bear & Friends magazine. I was also Artist of the Month in February 2005 on the Planet Teddy Bear website.
I have won two awards for my creations. The first being "Benny" who won a best in category rosette at The Melbourne Teddy Event in 2004. My cat "Sasha" won a best in category medal at The Gold Coast International Teddy Bear Fair 2005.
